In the 1940s the Hayden Planetarium produced a series of 3-D illustrations to explain celestial navigation. These images inspried the career of artist Gerald Marks, renowned worldwide for his 3-D installations. This stellar 3-D slide show about inner and outer space blends yesterday's images with today's digital technology.

This program is part of the series Rockets in Sprockets: Multimedia Explorations of Space presented by the Margaret Mead Film and Video Festival in recognition of the first anniversary of the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History.
