The featured presentation will be Electric City, the multimedia 3D slide show produced by NYSS member Paul Pasquarello with support from the New York Power Authority. The show tells the story of the 1901 Pan Am Exposition. It was shown at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society during 2001-2002 as part of the city's celebration of the centennial of the historic Exposition.
-The presentation is comprised of three parts. The first segment examines why Buffalo was chosen as host of this world fair. The second segment focuses on the importance of the newfound marvel of electricity. It concludes with a grand tour of the "Electric City," both under the light of day and under the electric lights powered by the mighty Niagara River.
-The show is written by Francis Kowsky and narrated by John Zach. To realize the project, more than 100 original stereoviews were borrowed from public and private collections around the country. They were scanned at high resolution and output to medium format slide film by Anne Dykstra with digital production and editing by John Weiksnar. The photos will be projected with two pairs of medium format projectors.
