This hallway runs the length of Island # 3, connecting the powerhouse, morgue, measles wards, kitchen, administration building, isolation wards, nurse's residence, and staff house.
In collaboration with NYSS member Eric Byron, stereoscopic photographers Sheldon Aronowitz and Gary Schacker have spent the past year documenting the non-public buildings of Ellis Island, including haunting views of decaying structures in the complex. The slide sequence combines their current photographs with historic views from the Immigration Museum's collection.
