A Kettle of 3D Fun
Fundraising Party to Purchase the Brackett Stereo Projector
At 7pm, stereoscopic artist Terry Wilson will show a variety of her phantograms, stereoviews and altered anaglyphs. Terry will have prints, cards and books for sale. At 8pm, the lights will dim and we'll start a series of 3D projections. These short programs include 3D Reflections by William Merideth, Eclectic New York by E. James Smith, and My Favorite Stuff by Eric Drysdale. We'll have breaks between each presentation for prize drawings, shopping and thirst quenching. As usual, all members are encouraged to bring images to show informally in stereo viewers.
Generous supporters have donated stereoscopic items for sale at the event. Susan Pinsky and David Starkman gave some informative (and hard-to-find) books on stereo image making. Several members have donated artworks and collectibles that will be for sale to raise money for the projector.
We'll have a raffle of 3 dimensionally dazzling creations, one after each show, with special guests drawing the winners. NYSS organizer Sheldon Aronowitz will coordinate the sales and raffle. Please let Sheldon know if you can contribute to the sale: firstname.lastname@example.org, 201-837-9508.

Longtime NYSS supporter Stuart Stiles has loaned his wonderful Brackett projector for many NYSS events at Ellis Island, Film Forum, the American Museum of Natural History, and other venues in New York. Its bright lamps and zoom lenses allow us to show R-mount stereo images in these varied spaces. Now Stuart is giving our Society the opportunity to acquire this essential tool at a great price and keep it available in New York City for future NYSS events.
Please join us at this legendary Greenwich Village tavern for an evening of 3D exhibitions. All your favorite beverages are available at the cash bar, and we'll have snacks and treats while they last. Special thanks to Kettle of Fish owners Patrick and Adriane for making this event possible.
