While going through the messages at the Fuji3D Yahoo group, I came across this new website devoted to sharing your 3D photos with the world, Start 3D. They offer several methods of presenting your stereo pairs, a slow wobble animation they call Piku-Piku, red/cyan, yellow/blue, parallel and cross view. They also accept .MPO files directly from the Fuji W1.
Knowledgeable people have been debating recently about how the future of personal digital 3D will evolve. There is talk of 3D becoming "mainstream" referencing 3D movies, like the high profile Avatar, 3D gaming and the Fuji W1.
My view is that 3D will never become "mainstream" but it can greatly expand its niche. It's sorta like Apple's 5 per cent market share (we all know who the cool kids are). And I think it will be 3D-capable photo sharing sites like Start 3D that bring personal 3D to the greatest number of people world wide.
