"Moon Viewing," from the series "Artistic, Aesthetic and Poetic Tastes of the Japanese," by Gerald Marks

The Moon and its relationship to earth has been a prominent feature in the work of artist and NYSS member Gerald Marks for the past four decades. Please join us for a 3-D ode to our dear satellite.

Some of the images premiered at the 2000 presentation “Rockets in Sprockets” festival. Also included will be panoramic 3-D images of New York City, taken during the January 2001 Lunar Eclipse, from the top of the World Trade Center.

NOTE: Seating is limited. It is a good idea to arrive early to claim a seat, then enjoy the exhibits in the Proteous Gowanus art complex. Wine and local beer are available for purchase, so you can enjoy the company of your fellow lunatics before the show starts at 8.

Stereogranimator is a new interface for exploring the Robert N. Dennis Collection of Stereoscopic Views at the New York Public Library.
